The History

Rogue Studios, London

Rogue Studios, London

It all started when Jon-Paul Harper gave David Domminney Fowler a job at Rogue Studios, London at age 18. Dave soon bought a share in Rogue Studios eventually teaming up with Rogue founder Jim Down, buying out Jon Paul who went on to start Rogue Studios in Germany.

Dave and Jim continued to own and run Rogue Studios in London until 2013 when it was sold to Terminal Studios owner Ed Randall. The Rogue Studios brand was sold on again to Rogue engineer Alessio Garavello by Ed and still exists although we are not associated with them other than through shared roots but remain friends.

During the pandemic Dave was asked to mix and produce a few projects and after a few years away from audio production got the bug again.

Although he was pleased with the results, something was lacking. He missed his studio.

So over the next few years he started looking at what had changed since he was working full time in audio, and a lot had changed.

In 2023 and 2024 Dave started collecting analog audio gear, he'd been sidetracked by cameras for a while and there was so much innovation to choose from.

First rule was no old gear that couldn't be serviced. Everything had to be current even if bought second hand. That was a lesson learned at Rogue Studios when he tried to get his 20 year old console serviced. A 32 channel mixer can easily become a 29 channel mixer as parts become hard to source.

In early 2025 Dave completed on a house which had a space for a control room and a couple of live rooms, and the studio build began. The live rooms are still under construction, but the control room is now fully functional and ready for business.
